Today we had a rare glimpse of sea life 565 million years ago. "The six-square-kilometre site of Mistaken Point is billed as the best place in the world to see some of the earliest multi-celled life forms ever discovered." And although the four kilometre hike through fog and biting black flies was a bit of an adventure, viewing the first large, complex organisms in the geological record, well, that kind of dulled the insect pain for the moments.
