DAY 17, On the Road to Deer Lake - June, 27
Read MoreJust short of two hours after leaving Gunners Cove, we pull into Flowers Cove, on Route 430, and at the entrance of Strait of Belle Isle.
We are here because of another one of Sharon's wonderful discoveries relating to our holiday extravaganza. Thrombolites, some of the earth's most primitive life forms reside here.We are not too long settled into our next sleepover, this time in Deer Lake, and it is time for a glass of wine before dinner.
But ahead of that; I see there is some available space on the line out there for a few pieces of my freshly washed out and colourful underclothes...hmm, I'm thinkin', maybe over the shower curtain may be a tad more appropriate. No Howling Please.
I'm hopin' it will be a fairly quiet night tonight.
THE END
Coming Soon:
Saturday, Day 18, our travels take us cross-country to Twillingate, on the northern shores of Newfoundland, and the iceberg capital of the world.
This first evening in Twillingate, we take in a local lobster feast--our first while on the island--and be entertained by a musical group with an "ugly stick?".
Sunday, while Keith and Donna join a whale watching tour, Sharon and I go on a tour of our own and explore what make this community so unique.
See you next time, in Twillingate.
