Our destination, The Whistlers.

The Tramcar will drop us off at the restaurant and observation deck, about a kilometre from Whistlers' summit.

We're coming up, they're going down.

After I have eaten, I'll wander around for a bit before I start walking up to the summit of The Whistlers. Below, is the townsite of Jasper.

I made some photos of this group from a fair distance away as they were facing towards a friend taking their picture. When they noticed me doing the same, they turned and posed for my camera. When back in Calgary I mailed this and other photographs back to the group, at their request.

Some of our group stayed at Whistlers Campground in Jasper instead of the hostel. A few are hiding in the shadows.

The best advice offered is to be prepared for anything.

Not While Driving. Crossing the Athabasca River on our way to Jasper.

The Jasper Tramway is our transportation of choice to get to the top - well almost the top - of the Whistlers. Our ticket purchase will also include a breakfast.

Our ride up is approximately 7 minutes.

It is hard to top (pun intended), the views we get while eating.

Time to head up. Instead of following the trail, as most people do, the more adventurous folk follow the rocky ridge to the left. Just by its nature the east slopes are steeper, but the views of the valley are too wonderful to miss. When we get to the top, we'll walk the ridge heading west (right) to the end of the trail.
