This was the first time in my recent memory (although that could date back to only a few hikes ago) that as many of us friends as there were getting together at the top of something for a very fun time.
Our route to Square Butte is through yonder trees, and about 1.5 kilometres away.
In fact I believe that is it, straight ahead and settled on the distant horizon.
THE SUMMIT
Shooting Shooting stars.
These tiny purple flowers are everywhere and are outnumbered only by the pretty yellow flowers people love to hate.
This fire pit is located at the summit of Square Butte and has been sitting in this spot since at least 1997. And how do I know that you ask? Well I'll tell you how I know that. This pit is mentioned in one of my hiking books printed in 1997.
Getting together on Saturdays with friends and having lunch at the top of things while overlooking wondrous views, brings back fond memories for a good many of us.
Overlooking the foothills.
Time for us folks to head down while passing other folks on their way up.
A couple of beverages and a fat juicy burger with the best fries ever, suited me just fine thank-you-very-much.
And for the first time in a long time we all really appreciated sitting together again in a patio environment while shooting the breeze.
