White Buddha (Vents Ridge)

This was a short hike as hikes go, around 7 Km.  It was a bit of a grunt however when we gained almost our total of 450 metres height gain in about a half kilometre of hiking (the squiggly orange line going through the trees in the first photo).

On the way down the other side of the ridge we did our utmost to stay close to the planned trail, but because of the snow that trail was not visible.  The deep snow lasted all through the trees and until we managed our way across two icy logs spanning a rushing stream.

You can almost see those logs in the photo where the trail reaches a sharp 90 degree turn exiting from the trees.

Thanks to Nancy and Stewart and their GPS skills we did OK, and I rather enjoyed the fun of trudging through the trees and snow.

 Enjoy,
randy
