Open Farm Days at Akesi Farms

Akesi Farms is in the neighbourhood of 10 kilometres south-west of Bergen AB.

Akesi joined in with other farms all across Alberta to host an open house weekend giving guided tours of their individual farms and what makes them unique.

LET OUR TOUR BEGIN

We start out on a pond tour which leads us to mushroom stumps.

Mushrooms is one product harvested on the farm.

Growing mushrooms emerge from openings in these stumps.

Education on the variety of mushrooms grown here.

Passing around a mushroom for inspection.

A sprinkling of jocularity while investigating an antique wagon.

A history lesson is being given on early century farm life in and around the Bergen area.

Next up are lessons in the caring of honey bees.
