Saturday was our scheduled hiking day and as a result we headed down #2 highway south of Calgary. Our first stop was in Nanton to wander through the aviation museum.
Today being Saturday, volunteers come into the museum to work their magic on restoring war planes. The plane sitting on the floor in the background is the Mosquito and it is the one getting the most attention today .
This gentleman was a wealth of information regarding planes that were active during the Second World War. Here he is describing the Mosquito, the aircraft that was a tool for all trades while flying over troubled waters in war time.
Spending a few moments and just observing, it is plain to see just how much care is put into their work.
THE MOSQUITO
I remember watching the movie about the bouncing bomb.
If you are able to zoom in on this photo you can read the description.
What attracted me to this framed photograph is the silhouetted airmen underneath their plane and gazing into the fog, and I knew quite well these reflections would interfere with my picture taking.
From Nanton we headed east along highway 533 pulling into Vulcan a half hourish later.
We parked across the street from this solar park but did not spend bunches of time walking around. It was bloody windy and cold with the windchill being -10 degrees celsius.
From the solar trees we drove over to the Star Trek Museum.
If it was not for the cold we could very well have left the car parked a quite easily meandered around Vulcan and visited a few more places of interest.
I didn't notice this cut out titled off its axis until I viewed this photo back home here. I took the photo on the way out of this room and for all I know I could very well been the culprit to have done that.
From here it is time to pay a visit to the space craft Enterprise.
Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Uhura
From Vulcan we travelled back west along highway 23 heading back home to Calgary, but not before stopping for a beverage in Okotoks.
Halloween arrives a half week early in this exciting town.
The Tribal Connection offers up live entertainment during the weekends of every month. But there was no vision of a lineup sheet of musicians for the month of November so I"ll check into their Facebook page for that info later this week.

Oh, I had better rush off because I am being informed it is time to head back home to Calgary.
