Kananaskis Falls Dam at Seebe

Looking down from the parking lot.

No matter, there are more important issues at hand.

Today we are headed to the dam at Horseshoe Falls. The un-official distance is in the neighbourhood of 18 kilometres--give or take a hundred metres or so.

So, let us get started.

We parked at the Kananaskis Falls dam in Seebe, and followed the Bow River, past the dam at Horseshoe Falls, and continued on to a point not too far beyond the top right corner of the map.
The sets of parallel lines joining the shorelines of the river are small falls or rapids. You will see them in some photographs.

Not too long into our journey the group starts to become fragmented. Personal agendas separates individuals from the pack.

But in short order most everyone becomes connected again.

Hmmm!

There were a number of these 22 calibre casings lying around on this ridge.

This seems like a pretty good spot to cliff dive.

Off in the distance is Horseshoe Falls dam.

Many Years Old

It is just a matter of a large giant step to forge this creek.

Well enough hiking for awhile--it's time for some food.

And thought.

This was kind of a hit-and-miss type of photograph. I had twelve seconds once the camera button was pressed to jog up the hill and get settled in. As it turned out there were a few seconds to spare.

After lunch we continued on with a renewed spark of energy.

Time for some moments of jocularity.

And moments of exposure.

Stepped Waterfalls

No, the camera angle is not slanted. This is the way the ridge is sloped.

At first I figured they were heading back towards the parking lot--not so!
