Alongside Highwood Trail (Hwy. 541), with the Grass Pass Trail trailhead directly behind me.
The Grass Pass Trail connects with the Bull Creek Hills Trail at Grass Pass, two kilometres up the trail.
From our fifteen smiling faces, Anne-Marie who is wearing sunglasses, led eight of us to the trail below the Bull Creek Hills ridge. The remaining seven hikers took to the ridge directly above our trail.
We are kind of ready to get underway.
Heading up the Trail
Looking down towards our starting point.
Our Grass Pass Trail makes a right-hand turn at about the point where the right and left hand treed slopes join at the "V".
The other hikers in our group headed further up to the top of the ridge and also made a turn to the right. Their trail paralleled with ours a couple hundred metres lower down.
There are a lot of pretty yellow flowers trailing behind us.
Going To Seed
We're in the midst of looking for a suitable resting place to eat lunch. Hopefully somewhere out of contact with wood ticks.
"Going To The Loo With A View"
Getting settled in for hunch with a view.
Somewhere along the distant ridge behind our lunch spot is where the second group of hikers are.
Most likely the diggings of an ambitious bear searching for a rodent meal.
Laid to Rest
What's he so cheerful about?
My only regret on this day was leaving this beautiful spot pre-maturely.
